This is the time of the Alder Moon, the lunar phase that carries the movement from Winter into early Spring.

The Alder Moon spans March into April, marking a time when ground begins to stabilise, boundaries re-form and preparation replaces dormancy.

In Celtic land traditions, Alder grows at thresholds, along riverbanks and edges, strengthening the ground beneath and holding form where movement would otherwise erode it.

It makes sense, at the start of a new year (Spring Equinox is 20th March), that we focus on the theme of Sacred Space and help to forge a fresh environment in which to do our workings.

The boxes are sent to correspond with each moon phase of the year so fall in line with the lunar calendar.
